Nine Chambers - The Trail

The trail through Dry Flats, The Narrows and Cracked Bell doesn't care who you are — only whether you can read a reel.

Fair warning: this game plays rough. Most runs end in a shallow grave, often before you clear Territory 1 — that's by design, not an oversight. Read the reel wrong and it will kill you.

Nine Chambers is a single-player, GBA-native western roguelite. Pick one of 8 gunslingers (a 9th, Sheriff Vance, unlocks by beating the game once) and fight your way through a gauntlet of duels, ambushes and bosses using a three-reel combat system: hold lanes, redo spins, and land LEAD, DODGE, COVER, SWIG and more to resolve offense and defense simultaneously. Between fights, patch up at the Saloon, buy and strip symbols at Dry Goods, and pick up relics from the Wagon and Poster.

How to play: Nine Chambers is a real GBA ROM (.gba) — play it on real Game Boy Advance hardware with a flashcart, or on a GBA emulator (mGBA recommended).

Current state: the game has no music or sound effects yet — that's the main thing being actively worked on. We keep tuning the roster so the difficulty stays fair, not cheap — most recently a full rework of every character's starting loadout. Expect the trail to stay hard. Treat this as an early, playable build rather than a fully polished 1.0.
